The Lion Brand has a rich heritage dating back to in 1889 when it was established in Londonderry.

The original company name was Hogg & Mitchell.

It initially supplied Khaki Drill garments to the British Army during the Boer War, before becoming a major shirt producer.

Originally trading under the name Old England and featuring a lion for its logo, it soon became known as The Lion Brand.

The Lion Brand is owned by Iconic British Brands Limited, based in the United Kingdom and selling worldwide. Iconic British Brands Limited also trades under several other heritage brands, including:
